About the band

Bold, bodacious, and back-breakingly tantalizing. Just a few descriptors that begin to capture the off-kilter essence of this seemingly familiar rock quartet. The sound of Odd Army is grounded in energetic riffs propelled by a relentless rhythm section and invigorating vocals that deliver a psychedelic landscape embedded with emotion. 

Comprised of Fidel Nuñez (vocals), Alec Luttrell (guitar, vocals), Cameron Kao (bass, keyboard), and Mitchell Wright (drums), the group formed in the suburbs of the Bay Area in 2013 before relocating to the fast paced city of limitless potential where they currently reside, Los Angeles. 

After releasing multiple self-produced singles/EPs, the band was quickly taken on by artist services group Cage Riot and released their debut album Chrysalis, Become! in August 2023. Produced by Will Turpin of Collective Soul, the album combines modern and psych rock elements to create an exciting and original sound.

Chrysalis, Become!

Recorded at Real 2 Reel Studios near Atlanta, GA, Chrysalis, Become! marks the band’s first full length studio LP. The 10-track debut album spans the musical array of emotions ranging from heavy, dark riffs captured in songs like “Eye for an Eye” and “Unforgiven” to softer melodies and reflective lyrics heard in the likes of “Puzzles”.

The first single “Mighty Fine” is out June 2023, a song that in the words of the band “feels like an Odd Army staple with its driving riffs, high energy instrumental breaks, and powerful hooks.”
